This very large one bedroom apartment (1,000 Sq. Ft) is in one of the most desirable locations in the Saint Germain des Pres district of Paris. It's close to the Seine River, the Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, Place Saint Michael, the Latin Quarter and a short walk to the famous rue de Buci market street. This apartment overlooks a private courtyard of a classified mansion built for Henri IV in 1595.
It's located on the ground floor with bay windows and an open view allowing sunlight in past a series of small trees giving the feeling of a quiet countryside atmosphere. All the bay windows are equipped with electric shutters.
The apartment is organized in 2 levels; on the 1st level are the entrance way, living room, and the bedroom.
The living room, with a full wall of windows, faces a paved private inside courtyard, away from the street noise and activities, and is furnished with bright upscale contemporary furniture. The original 16th century exposed stones were left uncovered on part of the walls. There is a sofa-bed that can convert into a queen size bed, hand blown glass sculptures and modern art, Cable TV, and access to high speed internet
Adjacent to the living room is the bedroom with a King size electric adjustable bed which can convert into 2 twins at your convenience (a Split King bed). In addition to the small closet in the bedroom there is an additional walk in dressing room located by the bathroom area.
From the main floor an iron spiral staircase leads down to the second level: a large vaulted cellar cave. This 16th century vaulted cellar has a kitchen and dining area, a walk in dressing room, full bathroom with an extra full shower, laundry room, and toilet.
The massive oak wood table in the dining area can welcome 8 guests. The stone walls are dressed with a series of modern photographs and a Kilim rug warms up the restored ceramic floor tiles.
On the kitchen side, the cooking area is nested in a special niche and hosts an oversize modern stove. In order to preserve the character of the impressive stone walls and vaulted ceiling, the kitchen has been designed in simple lines. Nonetheless, it offers modern comfort and is equipped with modern appliances and equipment, hidden behind the custom made floor- to-ceiling closets. There is a dishwasher, microwave, conventional oven, coffee maker, and toaster. An antique iron wine rack serves as a freestanding workspace.
There is a huge bathroom with a mix of modern fixtures and old stones. In addition to the bathtub, there is a full size shower equipped with both a fixed and a hand shower unit, double basins w/individual mirrors, and toilet. This apartment has a clothes washer, dryer, and hair dryer.
