This one bedroom apartment (550 sq. ft., sleeps 3) is on the fifth American floor (with elevator) of a nineteenth century building located on a small private courtyard on Rue du Bac near the corner of Boulevard Saint Germain in the Saint Germain des Pres district on the Left Bank of Paris. It is within easy walking distance of the Musee d'Orsay, the Louvre, the Musee Rodin, the Jardin des Tuileries, and the Hotel Matignon (the residence of the Prime Minister).
This area has upscale designer shops like Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, and Louis Vuitton, and is only a ten-minute walk to La Grande Epicerie de Paris and the organic open-air street market held every Sunday morning on Boulevard Raspail. This location is very close to the Church de Saint Thomas d'Aquin and the corner of Boulevard Saint Germain and Boulevard Raspail where there is a major bus, taxi, and metro hub providing easy access.
The apartment is both charming and quiet. The windows, facing west, catch the afternoon sun and overlook the interior cobblestone courtyard. It has wood floors, high ceilings, two decorative fireplaces, and a modern kitchen and bathroom. The furnishings are a combination of comfortable contemporary furniture and a few antiques. There is Cable TV w/CNN, CNBC, and BBC, and a Stereo CD Player. A Notebook PC computer with high speed internet access can be made available for use.
The bedroom has a high quality queen size bed that can be divided into two single beds. An additional comfortable folding bed for a third guest can be arranged.
The fully equipped modern kitchen has a conventional oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, and all the necessary cooking utensils including coffeemaker and teapot.
The modern fully tiled ensuite bathroom has a walk in shower with glass door, a heated towel rack, and a clothes washer/dryer located under the wide countertop with the basin and wall mirror. There is a hair dryer, an iron and ironing board. The toilet is in its own separate enclosure (not in the bathroom).
