APARTMENT LOCATION

This Saint Germain des Pres air conditioned apartment (sleeps 6) is just steps from the Luxembourg Gardens with easy metro, RER and bus service, and only a 10 minute walk to the heart of the Latin Quarter. This fashionable, quiet, and calm neighborhood is quite upscale and far enough from the touristy part of the 6th arrondissement to be authentic. It is an easy walk to the discount fashions shops along Saint Placide or the high end shopping district of Blvd. Saint Germain. This is the heart of the literary section of Paris – with several of Ernest Hemingway's apartments nearby and the famous salon of Gertrude Stein is right around the corner.

APARTMENT DESCRIPTION

There are small shops, grocery, and bakeries all around. Kayser (the famous bakery) is on the corner and within a block is a newsstand, shoe repair, Laundromat, cafe, bar, and art gallery. In less than a 5 minute walk there is a supermarket, pharmacy, mini-mart (open till midnight), internet cafes, and the many restaurants on Blvd. Saint Michel. There is a bistro and a restaurant, both with excellent food, within steps of the entrance.

This 2 bedroom air conditioned apartment is in a 19th century building with a wide, sweeping staircase and an elevator. It is on the 2nd floor and is very bright and quiet, and has outstanding quality. The decor is lovely and the whole atmosphere is comfortable and charming. It is tastefully furnished with antiques, reproductions and contemporary pieces. The ceilings are coved with decorative moldings and the floors are polished, restored, original hardwood. There are enough closets for your personal belongings and the great space makes it a very comfortable place to stay.

The living room has a double sofa-bed, a breakfast area, and large floor to ceiling windows opening onto a private courtyard. There is a flat screen Plasma Cable TV, DVD Player, and DSL Internet access.

The master bedroom features a fireplace and a very comfortable Queen size bed. The 2nd bedroom has comfortable twin beds which can be pushed together to make a king-sized bed. Both bedrooms have beautiful floor to ceiling windows looking onto an interior courtyard.

The American style kitchen opens onto the living room. It has brand new tile on the walls, counters and floor. It has a ceramic cook-top, microwave oven, fridge, and clothes Washer/dryer.

The marble tiled bathroom has a bathtub w/shower, basin, and toilet.
