This is a large two bedroom and two bathroom apartment (770 Sq. Ft., Sleeps 4), newly remodeled and refurbished in March 2007 with a built in partial Air Conditioning system for the living room. It is located on Rue de l'Odeon, one of the nicest streets in the 6th arrondissement, between the movie Theatre de L'Odeon on Blvd. St. Germain and the historic Theatre de L'Odeon at Place de L'Odeon next to the Jardin du Luxembourg. Here you will find old bookstores and antique shops and no fast-food shops or neon signs. This location is a 2-4 minute walk from a half dozen excellant quality restrauants clustered around the Oden and Blvd. St. Germain junction. Car traffic is fairly limited as this is a short street. It's really a top location for people who love the 6th district. The building facade has been resurfaced and the elevator is new. In 2007 the staircase will be completely repainted and renovated.
It is located on the 6th floor (the modern elevator goes up to the 5th). The living room and the large bedroom with a fireplace open on to the Rue De L 'Odeon which is not very busy and quite wide. Because the apartment is high up you can see the sky. This is a clear and calm apartment on the top floor. The second bedroom and the kitchen open onto a courtyard with a nice typically Parisian view of the rooftops, of the buildings, and the sky.
There is a large Queen size sofa bed in the living room, the type with a heavy thick mattress and easy to move. There is an old working fireplace and there is a DSL - Wi-Fi Internet connection and a large Cable TV flat screen. All the furnishings are high quality and new in the spring of 2007. The dining area of the main salon has a table that seats six.
The Master bedroom has a "Split" King bed that can be made up as two single beds, a desk, and a fireplace. The second bedroom has a "Split" Queen size bed that can also be set up as two single beds. Both bedrooms have a large built-in hanging closet. The photos below show the beds set up in both configurations for both bedrooms.
The kitchen is very modern with an electric oven, cook-top, microwave, dishwasher, clothes washing and drying machine,
The bathroom are completely remodeled and refurbished and there are lots of cupboards and built-in closets. One bathroom has a full bathtub with wall shower, basin, and toilet. The second bathroom has a basin, toilet, and walk-in shower.
This apartment also comes with 2 cell phones , a "starter kit" of food basics
(coffee, tea, salt, pepper, butter, oil, vinegar, juice, milk, bottles water). Phone calls are free for a lot of destinations (USA, Canada, France etc.).
