Montparnasse was the stamping ground of Hemingway, Scott Fitzgerald, Alice B. Toklas, Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, as well as countless artists and jazz musicians. Their memory lingers! The restaurants Closerie de Lilas or La Coupole have changed little since their day. The Jardin de Luxembourg is just a short walk away, as are the Boulevards St. Germain and St. Michel. Numerous sidewalk cafes and restaurants border the elegant tree-lined boulevards. It is approximately 10 minutes by direct metro to the Ile de la Cite, Notre Dame, Ile St. Louis and the Marais.
This is a spacious, light 650 sq. ft. apartment in a typical late 19th Century building, in a quiet residential setting, still very much sought after by Parisians. Tall windows, marble fireplaces (not in use), and polished parquet floors are very typical features of this period. Overlooking two courtyards (protected from street noise!) the apartment is pleasantly decorated with good quality contemporary furnishings.
The entrance hall leads to a pleasant sitting room with two comfortable sofas (including one single sofa bed), TV, and a pretty marble fireplace. An "eat-in" kitchen is well equipped and includes a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, and regular oven. A main passage leads to the first bedroom with double bed and the second bedroom with two single beds. The passage also leads to a large dressing room and bathroom with tub and shower attachment; the toilet is separate.
The apartment has gas central heating.
