This is an updated classic 1 bedroom apartment located in a building built in 1666 in the center of the historic Marais district. It is on a narrow medieval street across from a church and a small children's playground surrounded by ancient houses and wonderful old 'Hotels Particuliers' (historic grand private mansions). The Musee Picasso and the Musee Carnavalet (the Museum of the History of Paris) are just a few blocks away and a short walk takes you to the 17th Century square Place des Vosges.
The rue des Francs Bourgeois, one block away, is a fashion shopping center with lots of boutiques. Close by are the restaurants and cafes on rue du Tresor and the unique rue des Rosiers, the historic center of Judaism in Paris. The Seine is within a 10 minutes walk and just over the river you can explore the Ile St. Louis and the Ile de la Cite (Notre Dame Cathedral, the Conciergerie, and the Sainte Chapelle).
This is a large apartment (550 Sq. Ft, Sleeps 2) which has been renovated to an excellent standard on the third floor with an elevator (plus half a flight of stairs). The entrance hall leads to the sitting/dining room furnished with art and antiques. There is a sofa, armchairs, dining furniture, Cable TV with CNN, DSL Internet access, and two big windows with a view over the rue Vieille du Temple and a magnificent "hotel particulier". There are polished parquet floors with rugs throughout and tall double glazed windows on every side that make the apartment bright and luminous.
Also off the entrance hall are Japanese style fabric paneled sliding doors that open onto the Bedroom which overlooks roof tops and a quiet side street.
The bedroom has a double bed, good storage, and an excellent en suite shower room with washing machine. The toilet is in a separate enclosure.
The well equipped Kitchen has a clothes washing machine, a dishwasher, microwave, and a 2 electric element ceramic cook-top.
