This is a large 550 sq. ft. one bedroom apartment in one of the most fashionable shopping areas in the Marais and only one minute from the historic Place des Vosges. It's in the very heart of the historic Marais district. This location is surrounded by museums and cultural centers within a five minute walk, including the Musee Picasso, Musee Cognac-Jay, Musee Carnavalet, Maison de Victor-Hugo, Hotel de Sully, Archives Nationales, and the Bibliotheque Historique de Paris.
There are numerous preserved 'Hotels Particuliers' (city mansions), art galleries, the antique market of the Village Saint-Paul, the colorful Jewish quarter and a bit further away, the night life of La Bastille. Within a short (ten minutes) walk you can be at the river Seine, the Ile Saint-Louis, Notre Dame Cathedral, or the Musee d'Art Moderne (Centre Georges Pompidou).
Located on the top (5th) floor under the roof beams of an early eighteenth-century building, the apartment was renovated and refurnished in 2005. There is no elevator but the owner will be there for your arrival and departure to help carry your luggage up and down the stairs.
It has a really large main room with a high-pitched ceiling and ancient oak beams, a separate kitchen, bedroom, and a bathroom. It's furnished with a mixture of European and Oriental antiques. In the main room there is a flat-screen Cable TV with 50 international channels, a hi-fi CD/cassette player and radio, and a high-speed Wi-Fi DSL Internet connection. There is a sitting area with a sofa that converts into a comfortable sofa-bed for two. A dining area with round table has seating for four. The apartment spans from the street side to the interior building courtyard with the bedroom on the courtyard side. The windows on the street side are double so the street noise is suppressed.
The separate kitchen is completely functional and equipped with an oven, ceramic cook-top, refrigerator, clothes washing machine/dryer and a dishwasher.
The bedroom has a queen size bed and built in closets.
The modern tiled bathroom has a walk in shower, basin and toilet.
