This is the heart of the "old" Paris, the Quartier Latin, one of the oldest and most classic districts of Paris. The apartment is located just a three minute walk from the Quais of the River Seine in front of Notre-Dame, or to the Ile Saint-Louis, or the Luxembourg gardens. It is only a couple of blocks from La Sorbonne, the Pantheon, and the Boulevard Saint-Germain.
This walkup apartment on the second floor (no elevator) is in a 17th century building with classic high ceilings and original wood beams. It was renovated in 2002 and again in 2007 and is well organized to get the maximum functionality out of a smaller space and would be ideal for a family (sleeps 5). The furnishings are modern, conventional, and comfortable.
From the small entrance hall there is a living room with DSL, Cable TV, a double sofa bed, and comfortable chair adjacent to a modern open plan kitchen that looks out through wooden structural beams and a counter/bar. There is a small drop leaf table w/four chairs for dining.
An open spiral staircase in the living room ascends to a mezzanine platform built over the kitchen to make a sleeping platform area with a double size mattress. The sleeping platform and the staircase are semi-protected by guardrails and is not appropriate for small children or the elderly.
There is a separate bedroom with a double sofa bed.
The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, dishwasher, clothes washer/dryer, 4 cook-top burners, conventional oven, toaster oven, and dishes for seven.
The bathroom has a tub with hand shower, sink, and toilet.
