This is a very classic and traditional Ile Saint Louis one bedroom apartment (990 Sq. Ft., Sleeps 4) located on the 5th floor w/o elevator of a historic building on the Ile Saint Louis. Here you are midway between the Left Bank (Latin Quarter and St. Germain des Pres) and the Right Bank districts (the Marais and Chatelet - Les Halles). The Ile Saint Louis Island has protected 17th century architecture, narrow streets, and wonderful open views from its tree-lined quays along the Seine. There are boutiques, a baroque church, old-fashioned bistros and brasserie, refined chocolate and gourmet food shops, a florist, bakeries, a cheese shop, and many “Salon de Thé”. The Hotel de Ville, the Pompidou Centre, the Sainte Chapelle and Notre Dame Cathedral on Ile de la Cite, the Place St. Michel and Sorbonne in the Latin Quarter, the Bastille and Le Marais are all within walking distance.
This one bedroom apartment is on the Quai Bourbon of the Ile Saint Louis Island in a protected building where the facade and the interior courtyard are officially preserved as historical monuments. The apartment is located on 5th and top floor overlooking the courtyard. There is no elevator so there are four flights of stairs to manage…. but the stairs are majestic. Because it is high up under the roof beams with lots of windows it is both sunny and quiet… a real treat in Paris. It has a huge main salon-living room with a sitting area arranged around a fireplace at one end and a dining table for eight at the other. There is a double sofa bed and lots of comfortable classic furnishings all under ancient wooden roof beams. Equipment includes Cable TV, Stereo, and DSL Internet access with Wi-Fi.
The bedroom is unusually large and has a Queen sized bed. As it is situated at the end of the building it has windows on three sides with lots of light and cross ventilation.
The kitchen is separate and fully equipped with refrigerator, conventional oven, Microwave oven, and dishwasher. There is also a clothes washer and dryer.
The bathroom is accessible from the bedroom and has a basin, walk-in shower, and toilet. There is also a separate independent toilet.
