This one bedroom apartment is in one of the most unique places of Paris. On the Isle de la Cite not far from the old Pont Neuf you will find the treasured Place Dauphine, an oasis of peacefulness and elegance hidden in the very center of Paris. From here it is a five minutes walk to the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Saint Chapelle, and the very animated rue de Seine and rue de Buci areas.
It is about 10 minutes to the Saint Germain des Pres area and the Ile Saint Louis. The departure point of the famous Seine river cruise Bateau Mouche Tour is 1 minute away from the Place Dauphine. This is the heart of a quarter abounding with commercial stores, restaurants (three of them are on the Place Dauphine square) and the flowers and plant marketplace on the Right Bank. It is just few minutes away from Place Saint Michel on the Left Bank and the Chatelet and Les Halles districts on the Right Bank. You are just yards from the Seine riverside.
From the windows you can see the Place Dauphine square chestnut trees planted along the triangular space surrounded by historic buildings and by the Law Courts. The square Dauphine was originally the first botanical garden in Paris.
This apartment is extremely bright (oriented to the south) and quiet. It is on the 5th American floor (with elevator) of a mid 18th century building. The apartment was renovated in 1998 with high-quality material and upgraded equipment in the bathroom and kitchen. The decor is a tasteful mixture of contemporary furniture, French and oriental antiques, and modern art. In the living room there is a sofa-bed (sleeps 2), air conditioning system, Cable TV (72 channels) with DVD, limited line telephone (requires a calling card) and, in a small cabinet, a stereo, and a portable computer with Internet access.
The bedroom, also facing south, has a double size bed.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a combination oven/microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, clothes washer and dryer, and everything needed for 6 guests.
The modern tiled bathroom is en-suite to the bedroom and has a shower, toilet, wash basin, and hair-dryer.
